Aftershock is the seventh book in the H.I.V.E. series by Mark Walden. It was released in August 2011.


Scheming, extorting and general evilness are nothing new in the world of villainy - indeed it is expected. But there are certain codes of conduct. These codes have been followed - until now.

In an attempt to purge G.L.O.V.E. of its more destructive elements, Dr. Nero has underestimated the cunning and resources of those who oppose him.

Meanwhile Otto and rest of the Alphas at H.I.V.E. (along with a few new arrivals) are preparing for the most feared training exercise: The Hunt.

But there is a traitor in their midst.

The first strike against Nero will be a strike against the Alpha Stream, villain-kind are on the brink of Civil War...


Twenty years ago, Raven as a young girl was saved by Pietor Furan and his sister, Anastasia Furan, from a young street gangster known as Boris for working on his turf. Raven, or Natalya, was taken to the Glasshouse, the most advanced training facility in the world. The Glasshouse is headed by Pietor and his sister, and Raven makes friends with two boys at the facility, Dimitri and Tolya.

The story returns to now, with Dr. Nero announcing to the third year students at H.I.V.E that there will be "new arrivals" to the school and some will be joining the third year students. He also announces that the groupings for the "Hunt" - a training excercise whenre students are taken to a location in the wilderness and given one hour to get away before Raven and elite G.L.O.V.E forces go after them.
